Village BYOD WiFi Self-Registration
The Bring Your Own Device(BYOD) WiFi network is part of a U.S. federal computer network at Fermilab. It is for non-employees who want to use WhatsApp, Signal and some other applications that are prohibited in other segments of the Fermilab network. All electronic devices connecting to the BYOD wireless network must go through a self-registration process.
The self-registration process consists of the following steps:
- Associate your device with the SSID "byod"
- You should be redirected to the self registration portal and required to complete the self-registration form. All required fields are marked by "*" character. You must provide a valid e-mail address that will be used to send you the receipt and the link to confirm your registration. You will have to accept the Terms and Conditions as well.
- After submitting the form, click
"Log-In" button to connect to the BYOD network. At this
point you will be granted temporary access for 8
hours. Please check your e-mail with the subject
"BYOD ACCESS CONFIRMATION REQUIRED" and confirm your registration.
Once your registration is confirmed you will be granted
access for 1 week.
In a separate e-mail you should also have received the
information about your account with credentials. You
can use those credentials on another device to connect to the
BYOD Wi-Fi network without going through the self-registration
process again.
